Thai Yoga Therapy is a unique combination of gentle, balancing touch, use of marmas (vital energy) points, stimulating scalp and ear massage, together with aromatic oils/lotions which can deeply calm, refresh, and re-energize your face and whole being. This is a combination of yoga-stretches, muscle massage, and stimulation of the meridians by the use of acupressure points and manipulation of the joints. Thai Yoga Therapy is performed in gentle, rhythmic movements, and gives you an energizing, balanced, and dynamic experience for both the body and soul. Sessions are generally done on a mat on the floor, rather than a massage table. The session is done clothed, it is best to wear clothing suitable for yoga or a workout - this is often referred to as the lazy person's yoga and involves lots of stretches. Some Thai Yoga Therapy techniques can be included in any massage at mel Massage. Melanie completed her first Thai Yoga Therapy training with Deon de Wet, who is in the lineage of Saul David Raye, and therefore the ancient Ayurvedic influence is evident in her energetically infused stretching and compressing Thai Yoga therapy sessions. |
